This policy explains how personal information is used when you browse the Store, contact us, create an account, or purchase a digital manual. Shopify and payment providers may also process information for their own services under their own privacy notices.
2. Information we process and where it comes from
- Information you provide: your name, email address, billing details and country, account details where an account is used, and messages or documents you send to support. Vehicle or equipment information is processed when you provide it to help us check compatibility.
- Order and delivery information: products purchased, order references, payment status and confirmation details, refunds, and digital-access information supplied by the delivery service where that service records it.
- Information generated during browsing: IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, and cookie or similar-technology information, according to the functions and optional services enabled on the Store and your applicable privacy choices.
- Information from service providers: payment and transaction confirmations, delivery or support records, and security information needed to operate the Store. Optional analytics or advertising information is received only where the relevant services are enabled and applicable consent requirements are met.
Checkout and payment processing are handled through Shopify and the payment providers available for your order. We do not store your full payment-card number on our own systems. Please do not send card numbers, passwords, or other unnecessary sensitive information in a support message.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, the basis for processing depends on the purpose:
- Orders, digital delivery and order-related support: processing necessary to perform our contract with you or take steps at your request before you purchase, such as answering a compatibility question (Article 6(1)(b)).
- Accounting, tax and other mandatory records: processing needed to meet applicable legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)).
- Marketing emails: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). We send marketing emails only if you explicitly opt in. You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or contact us. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing or the delivery of an order you have placed.
- Optional analytics and advertising, where enabled: your consent where required by law (Article 6(1)(a)). Essential Store functions do not depend on consenting to optional advertising or analytics.
Where we rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for necessary security, fraud prevention, or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, those interests are protecting customers and the Store from misuse and resolving disputes. This basis applies only where the processing is necessary and those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests. It does not replace consent required for optional cookies or advertising.
Providing information needed to process payment and deliver your manual is necessary to place and fulfil an order. Without it, we may be unable to accept the order or provide access. Optional marketing consent can be declined without preventing a purchase.
4. Who receives information
We disclose information needed to operate the Store to Shopify for hosting and checkout, to payment providers available for the transaction, and to the email, customer-support and digital-delivery services used for your order. Analytics and advertising providers receive information only where their services are enabled and applicable consent and other legal requirements are met. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Our Store is hosted by Shopify. For information about Shopify's processing, see the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy. Shopify may process data as our service provider and may act as a separate controller for its own consumer services.
If Shopify Network Intelligence and related Enhanced Services are enabled for this Store, information about your interactions and transactions may be shared with Shopify and relevant third parties, including in other countries, to provide services such as personalization, understanding Store and advertising interactions, and relevant advertising. For these services Shopify may act as a separate controller. Shopify's applicable privacy choices are available through Shopify Privacy Controls.
5. Cookies, advertising and privacy choices
Essential cookies and similar technologies support the shopping cart, checkout, security and account functions. Optional analytics and advertising technologies, where enabled, are used subject to consent where required. Where a cookie preference control is offered, you can change your choices there. You can also control cookies through your browser; blocking essential cookies may prevent some Store functions from working.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Where advertising or related data-sharing features are enabled, disclosing information to advertising partners may nevertheless be considered a “sale”, “sharing”, or “targeted advertising” under certain U.S. state privacy laws. Where those laws apply, you can exercise the relevant opt-out choices through our Your Privacy Choices page or by contacting us. The available choices depend on your location and the processing involved.
Where applicable, a recognized Global Privacy Control signal is treated as an opt-out request for the browser and device sending it, as explained on the Your Privacy Choices page. A browser choice may need to be repeated when you use another browser or device or clear your cookies.
6. International processing and transfers
We operate from Poland. Shopify and other providers may process information in other countries. Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, the applicable safeguards depend on the provider, destination and service: these may include a European Commission adequacy decision or safeguards such as approved binding corporate rules or Standard Contractual Clauses, together with additional protections where required.
Shopify describes its safeguards in its Data Processing Addendum and Binding Corporate Rules. You may contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your data and how to obtain a copy, subject to lawful confidentiality restrictions.
7. How long information is kept
Retention depends on the purpose and applicable legal requirements. Order and accounting records are retained for the periods required by Polish accounting and tax law. Order-related support and dispute records are retained for the time needed to handle the request, demonstrate compliance, and establish, exercise or defend relevant claims. Security and technical records are retained only for the period necessary for the security or operational purpose involved.
Marketing contact information is used for marketing until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent. A limited record of consent or an opt-out may be retained where needed to demonstrate compliance and respect your choices. Optional analytics and advertising records, where enabled, are subject to the relevant service's retention settings and applicable consent. Information no longer needed for an applicable purpose is deleted or anonymized.
8. Your rights and complaints
Where the GDPR applies, you may request access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, and data portability where the legal conditions are met. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, including related profiling, and may object to direct marketing at any time. You can withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations or deal with legal claims.
Where applicable, you also have rights concerning decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Contact us about a decision affecting your order so we can explain the applicable process and your rights.
To exercise your rights, email support@yourmanualexpert.com. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify your identity or locate your records. Requests are handled within the applicable legal time limits.
You may lodge a complaint with the Polish data protection authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), or another competent supervisory authority, including in the EU country where you live, work, or consider an infringement occurred.
Depending on your location, other privacy laws may also provide access, correction, deletion, opt-out, or related rights. Contact us or use Your Privacy Choices where applicable to make a request.
